JOHANNESBURG – May, 2016 – Konica Minolta South Africa, a division of Bidvest Office (Pty) Ltd, has introduced the bizhub PRO 1100, an entry-level black and white digital press that paves the way for new business opportunities.

The bizhub PRO 1100 series is a workhorse monochrome digital printing press, ideal for central in-house printing departments, external print-for-pay services, education, government agencies and high volume statements printing.

Featuring a fast, high-productivity system for a quick turnaround of large jobs, the bizhub PRO 1100 is capable of printing 100 pages per minute (ppm) with high print quality of up to 1,200 dots per inch (dpi). The machine can handle expected average volumes of between 250,000 and 350,000 prints and peaks up to 1.5 million black and white prints per month. This puts the printer at the top tier range of LPPs in the market for an entry-level price.

In addition, bizhub PRO 1100 comes equipped with a simultaneous double-sided colour scanning technology able to scan up to speeds of 180 opm (originals per minute).

The bizhub PRO 1100 is also the first production printing device from Konica Minolta to support the bizhub OP (Open Platform) open platform technology. It is a new user-friendly open developer platform that contains an OpenAPI communication system, allowing application developers to create applications that communicate with the bizhub PRO 1100. The platform allows the use of third-party applications for accounting, authentication or scan-routing applications.

Guided by the principle “Giving Shape to Ideas”, Konica Minolta shows its commitment to developing new technologies and innovations that help production printers to produce high quality with the necessary flexibility that is suitable to individual needs. “We are proud to introduce the bizhub PRO 1100; the next generation of entry-level monochrome printers,” states Leon Minnie, product manager: production systems at Konica Minolta South Africa. “It gives our clients a print engine with high durability and media flexibility while remaining accessible and affordable.”
